Discover Vieste Walking through its streets

Vieste is a town of ancient history, with narrow streets and white houses featuring windows overlooking the sea, rich in picturesque views that reflect the blue of the sky and the sea. Vieste serves as an excellent starting point to explore the beauty of the Gargano region, the Umbra Forest, Peschici, Rodi, the natural paradise of the Tremiti Islands, and the ancient pilgrimage routes to Monte Sant’Angelo and the Shrine of Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo, as well as its musical and culinary traditions. Thanks to its favorable location, Vieste is also an ideal destination for water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, and the more traditional fishing. The tourist success of Vieste is linked to its sea and the beauty of its coastline, but also to a history rich in cathedrals, castles, trabucchi, coastal towers, sea caves, and ancient abbeys, such as the one atop Monte Sacro. Completing the landscape is the rural world, with dry stone walls, centuries-old olive trees, and gentle hills, together with the ancient flavors of the local cuisine. Today, national and international tourism has established Vieste as the capital of Apulian tourism, not only as a summer destination but also as a place to enjoy year-round. The Gargano and Vieste represent an exclusive retreat, where one can live at a slow pace, immersed in sea and nature, among sea caves, trabucchi, centuries-old olive groves, and citrus orchards, expressions of an ancient Mediterranean culture.
